MEET THE DIRECTOR
ASHER COLE
Asher’s career as a Landscape Architect spans over fifteen years working within Australia & further abroad on many award-winning projects. Prior to founding The Garden Social Asher was engaged to work for some of Australia’s leading landscape design firms with a predominant focus on bespoke residential design.
This experience coupled with extensive travels and a love for all facets of design has allowed her to cultivate her own design aesthetic and appreciation for well-designed spaces.
OUR SERVICES
The Garden Social offers a complete design service from the initial client briefing through to overseeing the installation, ensuring the design intent is maintained and the clients brief is fulfilled. The design process is structured to allow for the creative evolution of the design and provides the client with the flexibility to dictate the level of detail the project requires. We tailor the design process to meet the needs of each client and the scope of the project.
PRELIMINARY CONSULTATION
The design of your garden begins with an initial site consultation which allows us to get to know you and your pending project. We invite you to share your vision for the space and we’ll prompt you with questions to ensure we’re taking away exactly what we need to fully understand you and your requirements. We will discuss with you the process and provide our initial thoughts on the direction for the space. Following this preliminary consultation, we will prepare a Landscape Fee Proposal outlining our process for the design, the scope and the associated fees. A fee is charged for this preliminary consultation.
CONCEPT DESIGN
The concept package illustrates the proposed garden layout, materials, and planting palette. The package includes a to scale plan and imagery that will clearly express the desired outcome. This is a fun, fluid working document that is developed in close consultation with you.
DOCUMENTATION
The documentation package includes the information and data required to price and install a project. Each documentation package differs based on the scale of the project but they typically include a refined master plan, planting plan and schedule, materials plan, set-out plans, lighting plans and details. This package can be used to tender the project.
TENDERING
We can recommend and brief experienced landscape contractors to tender on your project. If required, we can review tenders and assist with engaging landscape contractors. The tender will be accompanied by the cost of plants procured by The Garden Social from reputable wholesale nurseries.
PLANNING PERMIT PLANS
We know the planning process well and can prepare plans and documentation for any permits required.
PROCUREMENT
We love sourcing plants, outdoor furniture and all the bits and bobs to complete your garden.
ADVICE AND INVOLVEMENT THROUGH INSTALLATION
We’ll be available to you or your selected builder throughout the installation to provide advice and review the progress as requested. We will provide you with a list of critical points in the installation where we suggest having us involved to ensure that the design intent is carried through.
